Nanda’s Caprese Salad

Originally from Capri Island In Italy 🇮🇹


2 Organic slicing tomatoes appropriate for salad

12 to18 leaves of Fresh Basil

1 Pack of Fresh Mozzarella

Kosher Salt

Olive Oil

Balsamic Glaze


Wash and slice tomatoes.

Place them in a salad dish, flat preferably.

Sprinkle a dash of salt on each.

Cut fresh mozzarella into slices.

Place one on top of each slice of tomato.

Wash basil leaves throughly and place them on top of the mozzarella slices.

Add plenty of Olive Oil.

Sprinkle on a little more salt.

Finish with the Balsamic Glaze to taste.

Variations: Sometimes I also like to prepare my Caprese Salad deconstructed. I chop the solid ingredients, place them in a salad bowl and season with salt, olive oil and balsamic vinagre. That’s my favorite way of eating it since all the flavors blend in quite well.
