
Nanda's Delectable Cooked Apples
A versatile, sweet treat that can be served as a healthy snack or a tasty dessert.

This homemade recipe is a great snack option for children
or adults looking to satisfy a sweet tooth, and is a perfect weekend dessert for the entire family.
Ingredients
Cooked Apples
6 Honeycrisp or Red Delicious apples
1/8 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
5 whole cloves—to be disposed of after cooking
Topping:
Häagen-Dazs Vanilla Gelato or Ice Cream
Ghirardelli Caramel Premium Sauce
Directions
Wash, peel, and chop the apples, discarding the core. Place in a pot along with the nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves.
Cover pot and simmer over low temperature, stirring often.
Depending on the type of apples used, a little bit of water might be necessary so the apples don’t stick to the bottom of the pot.
Once the apples have softened, smash them with a fork or a potato masher.
Serve warm topped with a spoon of ice cream, or chill and serve cold by itself.
Storage: Place cooked apples into a glass container with a lid. Reheat in microwave or on the stovetop, if desired.
